The Saint Bernard is known throughout the world for its gentle temperament, loyalty, intelligence, imposing presence, and devotion to family.

The breed was developed in the Swiss Alps and is inseparably associated with the Great Saint Bernard Hospice and Pass, where the dogs became famous for their work alongside the monks and for rescuing travelers in the treacherous Alpine environment.

The dogs that formed the breed were developed from Swiss valley dogs found in the countryside surrounding the Hospice, with the recognizable Saint Bernard type becoming established there over generations.

Today, well-bred Saint Bernards can excel as family companions, therapy dogs, show dogs, and performance dogs while retaining the soundness, temperament, strength, and distinctive breed type that preservation breeders work to protect.

Living with a Saint Bernard also requires preparation. They are giant dogs with substantial requirements for space, training, grooming, veterinary care, nutrition, and responsible ownership. Saint Bernard Puppies and Adult Dogs

We do not currently have a Saint Bernard litter planned.

When we do breed a litter, our focus is on quality rather than frequency. Occasionally, retired show dogs, young adults, or older puppies may also become available to approved homes. Every placement is carefully considered to ensure the best possible match for both the Saint Bernard and the family.

Meet the FzyBr Saints Breeders

FzyBr Saints is the work of Matt Agnese and Carolyn Goodwin-Agnese, whose shared commitment to the Saint Bernard guides the kennel and its breeding program.

Matt is a preservation breeder, cynologist, historian, educator, and lifelong student of the Saint Bernard. His work within the breed includes preservation breeding, historical research, health initiatives, education, and mentorship.

Carolyn has been an integral part of FzyBr Saints since 2017 and is a partner in the kennel. She is actively involved in every aspect of the program, from the day-to-day care and development of our dogs to breeding decisions, raising and evaluating puppies, showing, and helping select the right homes for FzyBr Saints dogs.

Together, Matt and Carolyn approach breeding as long-term stewardship. Their goal is not simply to produce the next litter, but to make thoughtful decisions that protect the health, temperament, structure, heritage, and future of the Saint Bernard.
