Miss Lola Mae is forever in our hearts. 🌈
About Lola Mae
CH King’s Mill Hemie, known and loved as Lola Mae, was a champion Saint Bernard and an important part of the foundation of FzyBr Saints. She earned her Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog Novice titles, but her greatest place will always be within our family and the history of FzyBr.

Her FzyBr Legacy
She was the dam of the first FzyBr litter, bred to GCHB CH Beric’s Sweet Retreat HF (Danny). Known as the Rat Pack litter, it marked the beginning of the FzyBr Saints breeding program and produced Fuzzy Bear’s Amore’.
Special thanks to Roy and Lacy Wilson for entrusting us with her.
How Lola Mae Came to FzyBr Saints
She came to us from King’s Mill Kennel, and it was my original mentor, Gary of SuGar Saints, who pointed me her way. When she arrived she was still King’s Mill Hemie. Gary suggested her because of the DNA behind her, and I trusted his eye, so I listened.
She was also a gift. My lady friend at the time and my mom both pitched in so she could be my present for finishing my MBA. Of all the ways to mark a graduation, a Saint Bernard arriving on a transport is still my favorite.
Her first few days after arriving at FzyBr were memorable. Within about 48 hours, she got loose. The next morning the local police brought her home. She was perfectly fine, but she looked like she had been out on the town all night and had no regrets about it. That was our first real lesson in who she was: confident, curious and completely sure the world was hers to explore.
She settled in after that, and she went on to finish her championship. She also took to Trick Dog work, which surprised a few people who think of Saints as big, slow and serious. She was smart and she liked to work with you, and those titles are listed above.
Her biggest mark on the breed came through her son, Dino. Kim Goodwin and her mom, Carolyn Goodwin, took him all over the country and put titles on him, and he went on to a number of firsts in the breed. Every time I heard about something Dino accomplished, I thought about that runaway who came home with the local police.
Lola Mae is the reason FzyBr Saints exists the way it does today. Gary saw something in her pedigree, my family gave her to me, and she gave us a start we are still building on. We miss her, and we are grateful for every day we had with her. A lot of what she started is still running around this place.
