About FzyBr: Our History
I fell for this breed in 2001, watching a Saint Bernard in the ring at Westminster. I went home and read everything I could get my hands on, and it was not nearly enough.
Not long after, I got talking with a member of the Northern New Jersey Saint Bernard Club. That conversation lasted the better part of ten years. Over that time I worked my way up through the club and got to know the people who really shape this breed. I have been lucky to be mentored by some of the very best breeders in Saint Bernards, and a lot of what we do at FzyBr comes straight from them.
The History Side
History is a big part of how I understand the Saint Bernard. I helped build the Saint Bernard Club of America digital library, which meant pulling historic stud books, translating them, and spending a lot of hours studying where these dogs came from. Knowing the old dogs makes you a lot more careful about the next ones.
Hands On
Outside the dogs, I am a paramedic, and I have worked as a vet tech. Caring for animals and people is familiar ground for me, and I have been training Saints for years.
How We Choose Our Dogs
Our dogs come from known lines, out of kennels run by people I know personally. These are dogs we, and people we trust, have actually had our hands on, and that is how we judge health and temperament. When you know the families behind a dog this well, very little comes as a surprise.
Today FzyBr Saints is Carolyn and me, our dogs, and our home in Falmouth on Cape Cod. You can meet our males, meet our females, or read about upcoming puppies. If something here speaks to you, get in touch. I am always glad to talk Saints.
