Male Saint Bernards at FzyBr Saints
Our male Saint Bernards are first and foremost members of our family. As part of the FzyBr Saints breeding program, they are also evaluated for health, temperament, sound structure, movement, breed type, and what they may contribute to future generations.
Our goal is balanced Saint Bernards that can live comfortably as companions while remaining true to the character, structure, and presence of the breed.
What We Look for in a Male Saint Bernard
A good stud dog is more than a pedigree or a show record. He has to be a good Saint Bernard first.
Temperament
Stable, social, confident dogs that can live successfully as family companions.
Health
Appropriate health testing, family history, longevity, and overall physical soundness all matter.
Structure & Movement
Saint Bernards are giant working dogs. Balance and sound movement are especially important in a dog carrying this much size.
Breed Type
We want a Saint Bernard to look and feel like a Saint Bernard without sacrificing soundness or temperament to exaggeration.
Caesar

Caesar represents the next generation of FzyBr Saints. He is by Ultima Thule’s Xerxes and out of Melon City Yolo, bringing together a male selected from Doug Fisher’s Ultima Thule program with the female family that has become central to our own.
Doug’s willingness to make Xerxes available to Yolo gave us the opportunity to bring qualities from his program into a female family we already knew well. Caesar is the result of that collaboration, and we are grateful for Doug’s contribution to this generation of FzyBr.
What we value most about Caesar is the whole dog: his presence, temperament, structure, and the way those qualities fit together. As he has matured, he has given us another opportunity to evaluate what Yolo consistently contributed to her offspring and what the Xerxes breeding added.
Caesar has also received recognition in the show ring, including Reserve Winners Dog placements as he has developed.
Bolt and the Generation Before
Before Caesar came Bolt, FzyBr’s Bolthor, our keeper from the 2022 breeding of Melon City Yolo to CH Notorious Tru Blu Gixxer.
Gixxer came to the breeding through Jeff Creasy of Notorious Tru Saints. Jeff’s willingness to make Gixxer available gave us the opportunity to combine his male with Yolo and see what the two families could produce together. Bolt was our keeper from that breeding and became an important part of the development of FzyBr Saints.
At the 2023 Northern New Jersey Saint Bernard Club/SBCA Regional, breeder-judge Bob Sykora of Van Rijn Saints judged the Dogs and awarded Bolt Winners Dog for a five-point major. When asked what separated Bolt, Bob’s answer was simple: balance.
Bolt then advanced into the breed judging, where Glenn Radcliffe awarded him an Award of Merit.
Those recognitions were meaningful, but Bolt’s greater value to us was what he taught us about the breeding behind him. He gave us a dog from Yolo and Gixxer that we could raise, live with, show, and evaluate as he matured.
Bolt is no longer with us, but he remains an important part of the FzyBr story and of what we learned from Yolo’s first litter.
The Breeders Behind Our Males
No preservation breeding program is built alone. The dogs at FzyBr reflect not only our own decisions, but the work of breeders who developed the families behind them and trusted us with opportunities to bring those families together.
Jeff and Darcy Petersen of Melon City Saints were instrumental in the foundation of FzyBr through Yolo and their mentorship. Jeff Creasy of Notorious Tru Saints made Gixxer available for the breeding that produced Bolt. Doug Fisher of Ultima Thule made Xerxes available for the breeding that produced Caesar.
For people familiar with Saint Bernards, those names provide context about the dogs behind our dogs. For families looking for a companion, the result is simpler: generations of thoughtful breeding behind the Saint Bernard that eventually becomes part of their family.
Our Males Are Dogs First
A male does not have to become a stud dog to have value at FzyBr Saints. Our dogs live with us, travel with us, show with us, and share everyday family life.
Breeding is considered only when a dog matures into the kind of Saint Bernard we believe should contribute to another generation. Health, temperament, structure, maturity, and the needs of the proposed breeding all matter.
The dog comes first. The next generation has to have a reason.
